Hello everyone, if you happen to love poem, I want you to read this one. I have a huge and very thick book just for a poem and I love reading them. I have nothing much to do here so I read this poem and this is very cute. I posted it here and thought maybe some readers might like reading it.
*The Dove*
A dove sings for her long lost love beneath the pale blue sky
In flight she searched the countryside waiting for his cry
Each evening she would perch alone upon the branch they’d shared.
Placing yet another feather for the nest they had prepared.
So white and pure she seemed to me, a shy and gentle bird.
And while she sang her song of love, I watched without a word.
In silence, covered by shadows, hidden by the night
She waited for the morning, with the coming of the light.
As dawn approached, there came rain, with mist upon the land
Why her love did not return. She could not understand. No song
Was heard that morning, with her head beneath closed wings
I knew her only comfort, was that which true love brings
My heart did rend within me, at the sight of one so fair
For now she was unable to sing in her despair
With tears, I whistled softly, hoping she would hear
As the clouds that had surrounded began to disappear
And low, the heavens parted before the earth below,
Sending forth the shining sun upon a rainbow’s glow.
A graceful dove descended, through a ray so bright
As a unison, oh so splendid, transformed before my sight
For a love thought lost was found again, singing in the light.
